John Douglas Davies - Pamela Mary Baines
All Saints’, Blackham
The wedding took place at All Saints’ Church on Saturday of Miss Pamela Mary Baines, eldest daughter
of Mr and Mrs F Baines, of Carriers Place*, Blackham, and Pilot Office John Douglas Davies, D.F.M.,
R.A.F.V.R., son of Mrs and the late Mr T Davies, of Sandbanks, Ashurst Wood.
The Rev A Miles conducted the choral service and Mrs Nutt was at the organ.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was dressed in white figured satin with a 50-year-old veil
held in place with orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of white almond blossom and carnations.
She was attended by the Misses Peggy Baines and Hilda Brooker, who wore dresses of hyacinth blue
trimmed with sequins. Both had head dresses and bouquets of anemones.
Sgt Reginald Wyles, R.A.F., was best man.
