Driver’s lucky escape from overturned lorry
An accident which occurred on the corner at the
bottom of Watch Oak Hill, Blackham on
Thursday resulted in an almost miraculous
escape for the driver.
He was Robert William Rogers of Hackney,
who was driving an unloaded lorry belonging to
Messrs A and E Bristow of Hackney, towards
Tunbridge Wells.
The cause of the accident is unknown and no
one saw it happen but the lorry, as seen in this
exclusive “Courier” photograph, overturned on
a bank and was completely wrecked.
The driver was taken to the Kent and Sussex
Hospital suffering from minor cuts and bruises
and was subsequently discharged.
