Frank was born Withyham/Blackham 1886, the son of Richard and Emily (nee Foster) who married in
Withyham in 1881.
In 1911 he lived in Blackham with his widowed father working as a carpenter. Later that year he
married Mabel Dell, a cook/domestic at the house of William Arthur Smith Benson, an architect at
Windleshaw, Withyhham.
They had three children Roland (1912), Gwendoline (1916) and Dorothy (1921).
His practical skills led him to join the Royal Engineers as Sapper, No.270279 where he worked on
railways.
His war records no longer exist. His Medal Index Card shows he earned the British War and Victory
Medals which indicates he served in a war zone after 1915.
He died at West Molesey, Surrey on the 14th December 1958.
